Elantris (Brandon Sanderson)
This fantasy fiction novel will suck you in. It's about addictive as chocolate and a whole lot healthier! Normally, I prefer to avoid novelizations of
myths such as Arthur or Atlantis. This book is no rewrite however. I didn't stop reading this one till my eye skimmed the last page.
I recommend picking this one up! Brandon Sanderson is quickly attaining heavyweight status of the fantasy world as he is completing Robert
Jordan's final Wheel of Time book, Memories of Light. His Mistborn trilogy already made my top 25 list.

I rarely read standalone books. I need a lot of "meat" in my fantasy. However, I must say that this book truly grabbed me and pulled me in to a fantastic story. I was sad to have it end so quickly.
Cracked open "Elantris" with very high expectations after devouring "Way of Kings." While the world of Elantris is creative, the depth of characters and quality of writing is nowhere near the standard set in Sanderson's more recent books. Protagonists Raoden and Sarene are saccharine-sweet and infallibly successful with their middle-school-worthy scheming. Evil priest, Hrathen, is the only interesting character in the story. While Sanderson's Way of Kings is masterful and Mistborn is excellent, Elantris does not belong on a Top 25 list.
I just finished Elantris and I agree with the review. Extremely engrossing, great ending, fast pacing and extremely relate-able characters . Really enjoyed it.
If you liked Elantris, Sanderson's newer Mistborn Trilogy will also appeal, even though the Mistborn books are set in a different universe, most of the great things you loved in Elantris are there in Mistborn, i.e the pacing, characters and unique magic system and fabulous ending!
