Not a series, but I'm partial to Hayao Miyazaki / Studio Ghibli.
- Nausicaa of the valley of the wind
- Princess Mononoke
- Howl's Moving Castle (although the book by Diana Wynne Jones and its sequels were much better!)
- The city in the clouds
- My neighbour Totoro
- Porco Rosso
- Kiki's delivery service
- Pom Poko
- Earthsea
- Spirited away
(His 1974 anime series, Heidi, might be very popular, but possibly not warrant much mention here in this thread
Best regards,

Everyone seems to like Beserk. I'm a bit of an anime/manga novice. Could you give me an overview of this series please?
I have a lot of manga stories that I really like three of these are Slum Dunk, Berserk and Naruto. They are all extremely and amazingly made the perfect plot of stories.
Hi there,
My best manga collection starts since 90s serials until now, i would only reccommend the authors, since i admire their artworks and stories:
Naoki urasawa (everything he created was magnificent), kubo (obviously bleach), takahashi rumiko (ranma 1/2, inuyasha, the mermaid saga), akira toriyama (dragonball & dr.slump), eiichiro oda (obviously one piece series), masashi (obviously naruto), hiroya oku (gantz), waki yamato (almost every piece is a master), and yumi tamura (7 seeds).
And perhaps gotta check some of these:
-kotaro
-shoot!
-kungfu boy
-gong
-crayon sinchan
