Default February 2012, What Book are you reading?

I finished the Black Company books. I would give them a 6.5 out of 10; maybe a 7. Interesting, but a tad boring at times. The climaxes were always a bit anti-climatic.

Starting the latest historical fiction book by Conn Iggulden - Conqueror: A Kublai Khan Novel. His books are awesome. I highly recommend them if you have any interest in history at all. He has written books about Rome and The Mongels, I haven't read a bad one yet.

I really liked the first five Black Company books, through Dreams of Steel I believe. Then waited so long I forgot all about the series by the time Glittering Stone came out, only to be disappointed. I din't even finish the last book.

I'm nearly done with Way of Shadows (audio). I am around 40% through Waylander by David Gemmell. I might do one more Gemmell books before moving on to another author.

Glittering Stone books were definitely not as good as the earlier books. One of them was sub par.

I'm still reading The Bone Hunters, on page 684 and only about half way through.

I finished the Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujoit around a week ago. I liked it immensely, and reading it slowly brought so much more out of it than when I was speeding in other books. I am reading Fool's Errand by Robin Hobb right now.

I didn't like Way of Shadows either. However The Way of Kings imo is amazing. I think it actually has potential to be better than ASOIAF

Yeah I havent really read very much yet not even half way through the first book so I'm sure that it'll get good once I get into it a bit its funny how some books hook you right from the first chapter and others you really need to persevere with before you can appreciate them like from memory First Law really grabbed me straight away whereas sometimes it takes a bit longer.

What books had you all hooked from the start?
